 REGISTRATION DETAILS 

  • Online registration opens May, 17th 2019. **Registration must be completed using a laptop/desktop computer.** The registration feature may not be supported on some mobile devices. (phones, tablets, etc.) 

 

  • You must be a registered user of www.btaabulldogs.com before registering any child for a sport. 

 

  • If you are not already a registered user please do so by creating a user name and password. You may sign up as a registered user of www.btaabulldogs.com at any time. 

 

  • As of 2017 All registrations will be done through our website. There will be NO in person registrations for the 2019 football season.

REGISTRATION FEES

  • $100 for the first child in family
  • $65 for second child in family
  • $45 for third child in family
  • $205 maximum for families of 3 or more.

 INSTRUCTIONAL LEVELS 
Flag  -  Junior Pee Wee 

  • Flag players are between the ages of 5 -7.  ***NEW 2019 EPYFL RULE ***No player at the flag level may attain their 7th birthday prior to January 1st of that year.  If a player is age 7 years and has already played two or more seasons of flag football and/or the player weighs 65lbs or more, then that player is "encouraged" to play at the Junior Pee Wee level. 
  • Flag players are split up into two squads; Flag A & Flag B
  • Flag B is designed for first year 5 & 6 year old players.
  • Flag A is for 7 year old and advanced 6 year old players  
  • Junior Pee Wee (tackle football - age 8) Player may not turn 9 prior to August 1st, 2019 and must weigh 80 lbs or less. 

 

Instructional level Post Season Play
Although the Flag & Junior Pee Wee levels are instructional and there is no play off system in place, the four Bethlehem organizations (Bulldogs, Steelers, Saints and Raiders) all participate in the long standing tradition of "The Bethlehem Bowl" This competitive event takes place over the course of two days. (Saturday & Sunday) usually the first or second weekend after the regular season ends. All players take home medals. The winning organization takes and maintains possession of the coveted "Bethlehem Bowl Trophy" 

 COMPETITIVE LEVELS 
Pee Wee - Junior Varsity  - Varsity

  • Pee Wee  (Age 9) Player may not turn 10 prior to August 1st, 2019 and must weigh 100 lbs or less.
     
  • Junior Varsity  (Ages 10 & 11) - Player may not turn 11 prior to August 1st 2019 and must weigh 120 lbs or less. 

    ***Older But Lighter Rule*** A player who turns age 11 between August 1st 2018 and July 31st 2019 is eligible to play on the Junior Varsity level team as long as he/she weighs 85lbs or less.

  • Varsity (Ages 11, 12 & 13) - Player may not turn 13th prior to January 1st 2019. The player must weigh 140lbs or less to play at this level. 
  • *** Any person who turns age 14 years from January 1st through December 31st of the current year is ineligible to play as they are too old for this league.
     
  • *** Each player at the competitive levels will receive a one (1) pound per week weight allowance starting in week 4 with a maximum of five (5) pound total increase by the end of the regular season.
     
  • *** ***NEW 2019 EPYFL RULE*** Older But Lighter players WILL receive the same weight allowance as other tackle levels. 

***NEW 2019 EPYFL RULE CHANGES*** 

7. ELIGIBILITY

A. No player competing in the Easton Pennsylvania Youth Football League may play for a middle school team or any other football team. No player in the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Football League may be a current high school student.

10. GAME TIMES

1. Each game starts immediately following the previous game, as the scheduled game times are only an approximation.  No game can start more than fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled start time though. 

12. AGE & WEIGHT STRUCTURE

C. No player at the flag level may attain their 7th birthday prior to January 1st of that year.

1. If a player is age 7 years and has already played two or more seasons of flag football and/or the player weighs 65 lbs or  more, then that player is encouraged to play at the Junior Pee Wee level. 

I. Junior Varsity Older/Lighter Mandatory Weigh-In

1. There will be a mandatory weigh in for any Older/Lighter player on the Friday night that is two weeks prior to the start of the season. This weigh in will be at a central location. TBA. 

2. Every Older/Lighter player must weigh 90 lbs or less at this weigh in to be eligible to remain on the Junior Varsity roster at that time. If a player weighs 90.1 lbs or more at this weigh in, they must play on the Varsity level for the entire season. 

3. If an Older/Lighter player does not attend this weigh in, they are not eligible to play on the Junior Varsity team that season and must play on the Varsity team for the entire season. 

A. The only exception for this weigh in is if the player is on vacation that week, then that player must do the required weigh in the Friday before. Any player doing this weigh in must be reported to the League President by that Monday. 

14. RULES FOR THE PEE WEE DIVISION

F. All defensive lineman, except the defensive and on each side, must be down in either a 3-point or 4-point stance - No Standing. 

15. RULES FOR THE JUNIOR PEE WEE DIVISION

* All defensive lineman, except the defensive and on each side, must be down in either a 3-point or 4-point stance - No Standing. 

16. FLAG RULES

I. Two 25 minute halves per game with continuous running clock, except each team shall be allowed one time-out each half. The clock will be stopped for a downed injured player and after every score. The clock will restart when the ball is set for play. There will be a 5 minute break at half-time.

K-6. All defensive lineman, except the defensive and on each side, must be down in either a 3-point or 4-point stance - No Standing. 

19. NOTES

N. Organizations are able to decide if they want to allow their uniforms to include players' last names on the back of the jersey.

20. SPORTSMANSHIP

E. Any parent that comes onto the playing field, except if asked by the medical person due to an injury to their child, will be suspended for a minimum of two (2) games. The advisory committee and/or the organization has the authority to extend the suspension beyond two games. 

 2019 BULLDOGS FOOTBALL - GENERAL INFORMATION 

  • All participants must submit a non-returnable photocopy of birth certificate prior to August 1st, 2019
  • Parents Meeting - TBA  at the Bethlehem Township Community Center.
  • BTAA will hold 6  "optional" mini camps over two weeks between July9th & July 18th
  • Dicks SportingGoods/BTAA appreciation shopping event. 20% Off your entire purchase will be held Saturday, July 13th
  • Equipment handouts will be held between July 19th & July 28th
  • First official practice will be held Monday, July 29th - 6:00pm
  • All football practices & home games will be held at the Meyers Ln "North 40 Complex"
  • There will be a few weeks of practices & scrimmages leading up to and maintained throughout a 9 week regular game season. 
  • Practices are held Monday through Thursday, 6:00-7:30pm every week until school begins. Once school begins practices will drop to 3 nights a week. (Usually Tuesday through Thursday).
  • The 9 week regular season game schedule begins Saturday, August 24th and ends Saturday, October 19th. 
  • Games are played on Saturday or Sunday depending on the host organization. There are 5 home games all played on Saturdays and 4 away games. (Day TBA) 
  • We will travel to other organizations for games. Lower Macungie & North/South Parkland(s) are examples of a few of the furthest distances.
