WELCOME TO THE 2023-2024 BTAA WRESTLING SEASON

The BTAA youth wrestling program caters to children K-6 that reside in the Bethlehem Township area. We compete in the Valley Elementary Youth Wrestling League (VEWL).  The VEWL is a tough, competitive league comprised of teams from the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos that prepares youth wrestlers for their upcoming Junior High and Senior High careers.  Many of the top wrestlers from the VEWL will go on to become successful wrestlers at the high school level and beyond.  For more information on the VEWL, you can visit their website here.

The BTAA all volunteer coaching staff, led by head coach Jake Retos, are dedicated to the growth and development of our young wrestlers. We strive to develop a true commitment to wrestling by providing our wrestlers with an enjoyable, team-oriented experience.  We emphasize the importance of technique, sportsmanship, physical conditioning, work ethic, goal setting, competitive spirit, and self-discipline. Most of all, we want the kids to have fun.

We’ve changed our name to BTAA Jr Pates!

Freedom head wrestling coach Anthony Marino and his assistants Luke Werner and Tyler Greene have a vision to broaden the Freedom wrestling family. That vision is shared with girls coaches Michele Laubach and Jake Retos, Jr High coach Jeremy Ortiz, the BTAA wrestling staff and BTAA board. The idea is to build more cohesion between the high school, middle schools, youth program, and the community to provide our wrestlers with a consistent and seamless transition between the different levels of Bethlehem Township wrestling. We’re still Bethlehem Township Athletic Association at our core, but the name change is a first step toward the overall goal of wrestling excellence in B-Town!
